Today Pastor Joe responds to a request for advice for those heading into seminary.
Advice for Seminarians
Find a local church and join.
Develop friendships with other seminarians.
Rock the syllabus.
Read as much as you can (learn from everyone).
Take the hard classes.
Push yourself.
Watch out for pride (esp. arrogance and a critical spirit).
Maintain a time of personal bible reading and prayer.
Do not allow your studies to be divorced from your faith in Christ.
Do not neglect your family.
